FLAG is a collaboration between our parent organization – the FLAG Alliance – and a rotating series of universities across the Mid-South. Each year, FLAG partners with a different institution to provide a fresh experience for students.
The original inspiration for FLAG came from a local conference in Nashville, TN – The Tearing Down the Walls Conference (pictured to the right) – sponsored and organized by the Ensworth School. Centered on advancing dialogue on racial justice, TDW inspired the founders of FLAG to find their own avenue to impact others.
In 2019, FLAG hosted its first campus collaboration with Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, bringing delegates across the state of Tennessee for a three day conference at the historic Buckman Center for International Education
After the Covid-19 pandemic, FLAG postponed operations until 2024, where it now resumes with its newest collegiate partners. FLAG also recognizes the many organizations and sponsors which provide support for the conference. We truly thank these organizations for their support and time, as the FLAG conference would not be possible without them.
